Arnhem Together hosted a family picnic on Saturday 31st August in Sonsbeek park. It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon, with food, conversation and great people all in the relaxed Sonsbeek park. We gathered under the big beautiful trees near the deer and space to run around, which kept both the animal-lovers and the football-lovers busy. We also organised a bouncy castle for the children and one of the guests brought along a bbq for everyone – always welcome!
It was, as usual, a great mix of families with and without children, Dutch and internationals, old and young. There were around 65 people, including children sitting under flags we hung from the trees and just taking a moment to enjoy meeting others. We would like to thank everyone who attended and made it such a success. Especially those who came along for the first time. There were lots of new introductions and happy reunions as people shared stories and contact details, with guests coming from Arnhem, Nijmegen and Westervoort, dipping in and out as the afternoon went on. We look forward to making this an annual event as it is a great way to celebrate the end of the summer holidays.
